Q-Crit Austria: Advancing future-proof security in Austria

This talk presents Q-Crit Austria, a groundbreaking project aimed at revolutionizing cybersecurity in Austria’s critical infrastructure through the deployment of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD). In response to the growing threat of quantum computing to classical encryption, the project implements a 200 km QKD testbed, showcasing its practical application in sectors such as energy, telecommunications, and banking. I will discuss the project's collaborative efforts between industry and infrastructure providers and the integration of QKD into existing IT security frameworks, positioning Austria as a leader in quantum-secure communication.
